Case study
WeCare.id
Medical crowdfunding & donation platform
WeCare.id is an Indonesian medical crowdfunding platform where patients raise funds for treatment and donors give to campaigns they trust. I led the move from a Django + vanilla JavaScript frontend to Nuxt.js universal SSR, covering campaign pages, donations with payment, transactions and donor verification.

Overview
Most donors arrive from a shared link on a phone, often on a slow connection, and every second of loading costs a donation. The legacy server-rendered templates were hard to change and heavy to load.
I migrated by extracting a shared component foundation first and then moving flows onto it, page by page. Pre-rendered shells, lazy loading, code splitting and caching made first load fast, and the component library made new campaign features faster to build — a pattern I still use for every migration.
Key achievements
- 60% faster first load on mobile data, lifting donor conversion and checkout completion
- ~40% faster squad delivery through a reusable component library and standard test coverage
- Migrated from Django + vanilla JavaScript to Nuxt.js universal SSR
- Resolved cross-browser issues across the donor experience
